CROSS COUNTRY: This Saturday, the Midland Athletic League Cross Country Championships will be held at Walsh Park in Fremont. There will be an admission fee of $5 for all who attend. The races will begin at 9 a.m.

GOLF: Two teams tied for first in the Clinton Heights Senior League on Wednesday. Shooting four under par were the teams of Jon Eakin, Fred Smith, Gary Kroeger and Craig Neifer, and Mike Hampp, Bob Overholt, Bob Shultz and Jim Weinandy. Long putt went to Hampp on No. 4. Closest to pin went to Dave Seislove on No. 5. Carl Rainey took closest in two on No. 1. Smith shot closest to pin in three on hole No. 9.

WOMEN'S TENNIS: Tiffin University shut out Huntington, 9-0. Tiffin's Malaika Bora Messi won 6-1, 6-0, while teammate Valentina Mazzola had the closest singles match in a 6-2, 6-3 win. Anna Scherting won 6-1, 6-0, Renee Mattson won 6-2, 6-1, and Abigail Schuster and Chelsea Beck both posted 6-0, 6-0 wins. In doubles play, Messi and Mazzola won 8-4, Scherting and Cassie Dye had an 8-3 victory, and Schuster and Beck won 8-1.

WINTER SPORTS MEETINGS: Hopewell-Loudon will

conduct its mandatory winter sports parent meeting Oct.

15 at 7 p.m. for all junior high and high school parents and

athletes planning on participating in basketball, wrestling

or cheerleading. Preseason forms can be found on the

school website. Print, fill out and bring the forms to the

n Upper Sandusky will hold its mandatory winter sports

parents meeting Oct. 22 in the high school gym. There will

be a general meeting at 7 p.m. followed by individual

sport meetings for basketball, cheerleading, swimming
