To start the 2012-13 Patricia Adams Lecture Series, Heidelberg University is to welcome New York Times best-selling author Donna VanLiere as the fall keynote speaker Thursday Oct. 18.
The evening will begin with a reception at 5:45 p.m., followed by dinner and lecture at 6:30 p.m. The cost to attend is $25.
In addition to the lecture, VanLiere is to present several informational sessions throughout the day dealing with creativity, marketing, writing and getting published and excelling.
A "Meet the Author and Book Signing" is planned at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library.
VanLiere is to read passages from her new book, "The Good Dream," talk about the novel and then sign books that are to be available for purchase. This event is in conjunction with Heidelberg University's Patricia Adams Lecture Series, which exposes students to female executives who have had a significant impact in their fields.
VanLiere was born and raised in northeastern Ohio and has published 15 titles, including "The Christmas Shoes," "The Christmas Blessing" and "The Christmas Hope," all of which have been adapted to television movies.
VanLiere's newest novel, "The Good Dream" was released in July.
In Nashville, VanLiere started writing on the side of doing theater, commercial voiceover and radio. Her first book was published in 2001, and she since has won a Retailer's Choice Award for fiction, a Dove Award, a Silver Angel Award and an Audie Award for best inspirational fiction.
