Benefits to help area women
Two charity events have been slated to help two Seneca County women, Deb King of Tiffin and Gina Pauley of Berwick, with medical-related expenses.
Gina Pauley underwent surgery last November to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm. During the surgery, she suffered a heart attack that shut down her organ systems. She overcame numerous obstacles to outwit death and earn the title "miracle woman" from her medical team. She continues to receive therapy three days a week in Tiffin.
Her benefit is 5 p.m. Oct. 20 at First Lutheran Church, 300 Melmore St., Tiffin. A spaghetti dinner is to be served until 6:30 p.m., followed by a silent auction and raffles. The dinner is $7 per person.
Deb King is the wife of Rex King, pastor of New Beginnings Assembly of God in Tiffin. Deb has been grounded by an injured knee and a lack of insurance for knee replacement. At 53, she has been forced to give up the children's ministries she loves.
An auction and spaghetti dinner are planned Oct. 21 at the church, 733 N. Sandusky St., Tiffin. The auction is to start at 4 p.m., followed by dinner 5-7 p.m. A drive-through carry-out is to be available. The meal is $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-11 and free for those age 4 and younger.
