Caudill, Moore help Tigers answer early challenge

ATTICA - Ethan Caudill threw a pair of touchdown passes in the first quarter and one of Kevin Moore's TDs was a 71-yard kickoff return in the second period Friday as Seneca East stormed past Mohawk 33-12.

Mohawk had an early lead in the Midland Athletic League matchup, going ahead 6-0 on Gunnar Johnson's 7-yard run less than two minutes into the game.

But Caudill had TD tosses of 6 yards to Moore and 82 yards to Adam Hall to help the Tigers forge a 13-6 lead.

Alex Scheiber tacked on an 8-yard scoring run in the second period for Seneca East, and Moore's kickoff return came later that quarter after Johnson ran in from 5 yards out for the Warriors.

Jared Walker's 31-yard sprint for the Tigers closed out the scoring in the fourth quarter.

Caudill went 7 of 13 passing for 167 yards, and ran 16 times for another 124 yards. Hall caught four passes for 82 yards, and Walker ran nine times for 56 yards.

Grant Ekleberry's 72 yards on six carries led the Warriors. He also caught two passes for 58 yards.

Adkins diet a feast of plenty

CRESTLINE - Michael Adkins ran for four touchdowns and 192 yards Friday as Buckeye Central beat North Central Conference foe Crestline 36-7.

The Bucks led only 8-0 at halftime, but scored twice in the third quarter to gain momentum.

Alec Baldosser added a touchdown run and conversion, and Scott Heydinger ran for two conversions.

Michael Spade's 12 carries for 49 yards topped the Bulldogs.

Royals get around Upper Sandusky

BUCYRUS - Wynford battled past Upper Sandusky for a 21-12 North Central Conference win Friday.

Upper Sanduksy took a 6-0 lead on Tylor Pritchard's 1-yard dive midway through the first quarter, but the Royals went up 7-6 in the period's final minute and tacked on a 55-yard punt return in the second quarter for a 13-6 lead at intermission.

Wynford added a short TD run in the fourth quarter before the Rams' Tristen Reichelderfer fell on a blocked punt for a score with 4:39 to play.

Eagles roll from the start

PEMBERVILLE - Isaac Conkle returned the opening kickoff 86 yards and Eastwood kept on rolling Friday in a 61-6 Northern Buckeye Conference win over Fostoria.

Conkle added a 1-yard scoring plunge later in the first quarter, with two teammates also scoring twice.

Brent Schlumbohm had two 3-yard TD runs for the Eagles, and Devin Snowden had touchdown runs covering 12 and 11 yards.

Jack Schmeltz chipped in a 13-yard scoring run, Michael Glaze sprinted in from 10 yards out, and the Eagles also had a short fumble return for a score.

The Redmen avoided the shutout on Keanu Crowe's 20-yard gallop in the third quarter.

Crowe ran 24 times for 110 yards, but FHS ended with only 84 yards of offense. The Redmen lost four of their 11 fumbles and threw an interception.

Schlumbohm's 158 yards on 14 carries keyed Eastwood, which got all 314 of its offensive yards on the the ground.
