Joe and Cookie Kastner celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in a private ceremony Sept. 15, 2012, at Church of The Savior, Cleveland Heights, officiated by their son-in-law, the Rev. Erik Marshall.
The ceremony was a surprise from their three daughters, Amy (Brian) Kastner-Drown of California, Angie (Mike) Lambert of Tiffin and Amanda Marshall (Erik) of Shaker Heights. The couple also has a son, the late Adam Kastner, and three grandchildren.
They were married Sept. 2, 1972, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, by the Rev. James Peiffer.

Joseph, son of Marilyn Kastner of Tiffin and the late Paul Kastner, is retired from Whirlpool Corp., Clyde.
The couple also took a Disney cruise to Nova Scotia for their anniversary.
