Visit Oktober Fest

October 5, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy this fall weather. The friends of Seneca County Park District are having the 8th annual Oktober Fest at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, 6777 SR 19, Bloomville.

German food will be served from noon to 5 p.m. Enjoy our 25-piece German band while you eat and then observe the Black Swamp raptor exhibit, blacksmithing demonstrations, a petting zoo, rock-cutting demonstrations and the mounted wildlife display. Our narrated wagon rides of the 292-acre park and the children's activities will be hits again this year. New this year is the German "Baeckerie" in our restored 1850 log house. Bring your appetite and then take bakery goods home with you as well!

Admission and parking are free. One caution: the bridge on SR 19 just north of Bloomville is being repaired, so take a ride through the country on your way to enjoying a great Sunday afternoon.

Tiffin
