A Green Springs woman was found guilty on charges of animal cruelty after she pleaded no contest Monday in Tiffin Municipal Court.
Maylee B. McClanahan, 35, who was initially charged with five counts of cruelty to animals after a Seneca County sheriff's deputy found malnourished dogs and a dead 10-week-old Jack Russell mix under a plastic tote outside of her TR 178 residence in July, was found guilty of three counts of the second-degree misdemeanor charge. Two of the charges had been dismissed, according to court documents.
She received 30 days in jail Monday, but the sentence was suspended. According to court documents, McClanahan also was ordered not to own dogs while on probation.
A fine hearing has been set for May 3.
