BUCYRUS - Crawford Theatre Co. plans to present "Leaving Iowa: The Comedy About Family Vacations" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Bucyrus High School.
"Leaving Iowa" is the story of Don Browning, a middle-aged writer who returns home and decides to take his father's ashes to his childhood home, as requested.
When Don discovers Grandma's house is now a grocery store, he begins traveling across Iowa searching for a proper resting place for his father. This father-and-son road trip shifts smoothly from the present to Don's memories of the annual, tortuous vacations of his childhood.
The cast consists of Scott Smith (Bucyrus) as Don, Lanie French (Sycamore) as Sis, Jim Kitzler (Carey) as Dad, Betsy Gerhart (Bucyrus) as Mom, Matt Eichhorn (Bucyrus) as "multiple character guy" and Nicole Jones (Bucyrus) as "multiple character gal."
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students.
