Course sign-up for Sentinel

People interested in ABLE/GED classes may enroll now at Sentinel Career and Technology Center , 793 E. Twp. Rd 201, Tiffin.

Due to funding through a grant, ABLE classes are offered free to people ages 18 and older. Classes in reading, writing and math are available for people wanting to improve basic skills for the purpose of understanding materials related to the home, workplace or community. For anyone wanting to obtain a GED, classes prepare students for all components of the GED test and provide test-taking tips.

To enroll in classes, students are required to attend an orientation where registration forms and placement testing are completed. Orientations are 5:30 p.m. Oct. 3 and 12:30 p.m. Oct. 17. Students should plan to stay for the full two-hour session. Orientations will be held in room 244 of the Family Learning Center at Sentinel.

Class times are 9-11 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

A distance education program also is available that offers online lessons.

GED testing is available the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. Before testing, online applications are required along with the $40 fee.
