A two-vehicle accident at US 224 and CR 23 claimed the life of a Willard man this morning.

Joshua Collins, 19, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, where he was pronounced dead, according to a release from State Highway Patrol.

It states Collins was driving a 1998 Chevrolet S10 northbound on CR 23, and Bryan Waldock, 24, of Tiffin, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on US 224.

Collins stopped at the stop sign, started through the intersection and was struck by Waldock's vehicle.

David Tripp, 11, of Republic, a passenger in Collins' vehicle, was taken by Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Another passenger, Johni Hamons, 15, of Republic, was taken to Willard Mercy Hospital. Waldock was taken to Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

Hamons and Waldock had non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

Waldock was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and blood results are pending, it states.
