Seneca County
Seneca County Park District invites all ages to a Nature Walk Bird Talk at 8 a.m. Oct. 6 at Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, SR 19 south of Bloomville.
The walk will last about 1 1/2 hours and qualifies for the walking stick program. See what might be lurking in the woods, grasslands or wetlands. Binoculars and field guides are helpful.
The annual Oktober Fest celebration is planned for noon-5 p.m. Oct. 7 at Garlo preserve.
Enjoy German food and baked goods, a German band, wagon rides through the preserve and other activities.
An October Awareness Hike is to take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at Forrest Nature Preserve. Hike the preserve to enjoy fall colors and see what other changes autumn brings.
Toddlers ages 12-36 months with an adult companion can learn about leaves at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at Zimmerman Nature Preserve.
