Ruth Avanelle Byerly, 74, of The Heritage in Findlay and formerly of Fostoria, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at The Heritage.
She was born Feb. 5, 1938, in New Boston to Russell and Ruby (Crawford) Plummer. She married Karl Wendell Byerly April 19, 1952, in Greenup, Ky., and he died June 20, 1991.
Survivors are one son, Karl "Ed" (Alice) Byerly of North Baltimore; five daughters, Linda (Sam) Roeber of Rawson, Karen Gibbs of Peachland, N.C., Kathy (Robert) Smith of Fostoria, Kristy (Jeff ) Heldman of Mt. Cory and Tammy (Tim) Dean of Risingsun; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; five stepgrandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Fred Plummer; and one sister, Jewel Calhoun.
Her funeral is 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Revs. Marion Specer and Donald Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloomdale.
Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice or to the charity of the donor's choice.
