TEXAS - Columbian's Brandon Gibson took the boys individual crown and Hopewell-Loudon's girls ended second in their race Saturday at the Liberty Center Widewater Invitational.
Gibson's win in 16:30.81 helped the Tornadoes end up sixth in the boys meet with 148 points.
Chris Gates added an 11th (16:58.7) for TC.
Hopewell-Loudon finished seventh (167) behind Robert Kniss taking 19th (17:38.77) and Chet Swartzmiller running 25th (17:46.61).
Hopewell-Loudon's Patric Gase claimed the open race in 17:58.34, and Columbian's Oliver Stevens ended 25th (20:21.92).
Liberty Center beat H-L 22-78 for the girls title.

Hopewell-Loudon's Leah Reinhart led all area runners by taking ninth (20:54.61).
Kailey Coleman ran 12th (21:20.03) for H-L, Shelby Raudebaugh came in 17th (21:52.78), Erin Reinhart-Anez took 19th (21:57.44) and Morgan Brant ended 29th (22:17.02).
Columbian finished fourth (91), getting a 10th from Hanna Musil (21:07.53) and a 13th from Abrie Smith (21:26.5).
In the open race, Columbian's Lydia Vallery ran third (23:48.67) and H-L's Allison Arnold ended fourth (24:34.84).
Calvert, OF have top-20 runners
TOLEDO - Calvert and Old Fort each had at least two top-20 runners Saturday to highlight local efforts in Black Division of the Cardinal Stritch Invitational.
Alexis Rhodes claimed fourth (21:12.34) for Old Fort, and Calvert's Morgan Smith took sixth (21:26.94).
Old Fort's Kayla Garza added a 15th (21:54.07), Old Fort's Jackie Becker claimed 16th (22:01.14) and Sydney Berlekamp of Calvert came in 18th (22:10.97).
Elmwood beat Blissfield 93-115 for the title, with Calvert taking third (120). Old Fort finished sixth (199) and New Riegel ended eighth (216).
Abby Cassidy's 20th (22:19.12) led New Riegel, and Ashley Mathias ended 28th (22:36.32).
Tiebreaker knocks Stockaders to third
TOLEDO - Elmwood upended Old Fort on a tiebreaker to take second Saturday in the Black Division of the Cardinal Stritch Invitational.
The runner-up spot came down to the sixth runners, with Elmwood's Matthew Wagner taking 48th (19:20.28) and Marc Harris ending 85th (21:27.92) for the Stockaders.
Marcus Meyers captured second (16:43.55) for Old Fort and Brad Bannister crossed the line fifth (17:22.2).
Calvert ended sixth (175) behind Austin Schultz's seventh (17:32.11) and Ren Boehler's 23rd (18:36.66).
Tigers victorious at Bill Brown
MANSFIELD - Course conditions were far from pleasant but it didn't stop Seneca East from stomping its competition, winning 20-46 over New London in the Ontario Bill Brown Blue Race.
Carson Pipher was the top Seneca East finisher, taking second (17:25.1) while Jason Willman was third (17:35.1). Wes Pipher (4th, 17:40.4) and Jared Stockmaster (5th, 17:53.6) rounded out third and fourth for the team while Karl Burgderfer (6th, 18:05.5) rounded out the top five for the Tigers.
