By Jill Gosche - Online Editor , The Advertiser-Tribune

Two people were injured in an accident near railroad tracks in Loudon Township Saturday evening.

Sgt. Larry Mackling of Seneca County Sheriff's Office said Norma J. Gladieux, 63, of Tiffin, and her father, George Kastner, 90, of Tiffin, were taken by ambulance to Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

Traffic was stopped for a train crossing US 224, west of US 23. Mackling said Gladieux had been driving a 1998 Ford Escort westbound on US 224, and the vehicle was slowing to stop for traffic.

A 2008 Dodge Avenger driven by Whitney N. Hull, 25, of Tiffin, struck the Escort in the rear, Mackling said.

Hull, who was cited with assured clear distance, was not injured, he said.
