Seneca County
A sunset canoe float is planned for 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Seneca County Park District's Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, SR 19 south of Bloomville.
Spend an evening canoeing as the sun sets and look at and listen to the sights and sounds of the preserve. Canoes, paddles and adult life jackets are provided. Parents must provide life jackets for children.

Sandusky County
Sandusky County Park District is planning moonlight canoeing Sept. 29-30 and Oct. 1.
Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the park office, 1970 Countryside Place, Fremont. Participants must register with a partner.

Hancock County
Youths who have assignments to put together a leaf collection and don't know where to begin can join Hancock Park District's Natural Resource Coordinator Sarah Betts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Participants will be collecting and identifying leaves common to Hancock County, as well as learning about pressing and preserving leaf collections.
Meet at Riverbend Recreation Area, Big Oaks Area Shelter 3. Children ages 13 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Kathryn Cox of Millstream Astronomy Club will show there are other things to find on the moon besides the "Man in the Moon" during her Sept. 29 program, "How to Find the Lady in the Moon."
Meet at Riverbend Recreation Area's shelter 5 at 8 p.m. There is public viewing after the program if conditions are favorable.

Learn about "Nature's Velcro: Sticky Seeds" during a program at 1 p.m. Sept. 29 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve.
Interested hikers should meet at the Discovery Center to learn about seed dispersal methods and examine a display of locally found plant seeds. They then will take a hike to find seeds.
Oakwoods preserve is at 1400 Oakwoods Lane, west of Findlay.
Pioneer Tyke Hikes are planned for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 2 at Litzenberg Memorial Woods, McKinnis House.
Children ages 3-6 with an adult companion can help grind corn, make cider and meet a pioneer. Cost is 50 cents per child.
