A private tennis coach from Tiffin is awaiting sentencing after he pleaded guilty to sex-related charges Thursday for having sexual conduct with a 17-year-old tennis student earlier this year.
David A. Kimmet, 64, pleaded guilty to sexual battery, a third-degree felony, and illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material, a fourth-degree felony, Thursday afternoon in visiting Judge Russell Wiseman's courtroom. A charge of sexual battery and a charge of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material were dismissed.
Kimmet, who had pleaded not guilty to the four charges last month, was indicted in July after police learned he had had sexual conduct with a female student between January and March this year.

Numerous electronic instant messages that were of a graphic sexual nature and believed to have been communication between Kimmet and the girl had been turned over to police and nude photographs of the girl also were found at Kimmet's residence. The girl also admitted that sexual conduct occurred on more than one occasion, court documents state.
Following his indictment, Kimmet was released on a personal recognizance bond, but it was revoked after he had contact with the girl last month.
A sentencing date has not been set for Kimmet, whose $250,000 bond was continued Thursday.
