Old Fort boosters

planning scavenger hunt

Old Fort Athletic Boosters are planning a fundraising scavenger hunt for Oct. 13. Entry fee is $100 per vehicle, and each vehicle may have up to six participants, all older than 21.

Teams should arrive at the school by 6:45 p.m. The hunt is to start at 7 p.m.

To enter, write a $100 check payable to Old Fort Athletic Boosters and send it to Old Fort Athletic Boosters, 5272 N. TR 76, Green Springs, OH 44836. The deadline to register is Sept. 29.

Sentinel open house slated

Sentinel Career and Technology Center is to have an open house Oct. 9 at the newly renovated facility, 793 E. TR 201.

That day, parents may visit a student during classes 9-11 a.m. and noon-2 p.m. An afterschool open house is 5-7 p.m. Visitors can check out the center's 14 career programs, meet the instructors and see the students at work; see the school's newest equipment and technology; view college displays in the commons area; and sign up for door prizes.

Visitors also may attend the Sentinel FFA Alumni Chicken BBQ 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Tickets are $8 in advance or $8.50 at the door. Call (419) 448-1212 for tickets or for information.

TCS committee to meet

Tiffin City Board of Education's finance committee is to meet at 4 p.m. today on the third floor of the administration building, 244 S. Monroe St.

Art show entries needed

FINDLAY - Findlay Art League is putting out a call for artists to enter its 36th annual juried show.

Entries are to be submitted 7-9 p.m. Oct. 11 and 9 a.m.-noon Oct. 13. They should be dropped off at the FAL gallery, 117 W. Crawford St., Findlay.

A prospectus for the show can be obtained at the Findlay Art League Gallery or can be downloaded from the Findlay Art League website at www.findlayartleague.com. Any questions can be directed to Rollie and Carol at (419) 423-3724.

Artists must be 17 years of age or older. Entries must be 2-dimensional or 3-D original artwork finished within the past four years and not exhibited previously in an FAL Juried or May Show. No photography is to be accepted. Work on canvas must be dry and framed or edges painted with staples on the back. Paper works must be framed under glass or Plexiglas. All 2-D works must be wired for hanging and must not exceed 60 inches in either direction, including frame. 3-D works must not exceed 75 pounds.

The juried show is to open Oct. 29. The reception for the artists will be 5-9 p.m. Nov. 2, in conjunction with the Arts Partnership's ArtWalk. Awards will be made at 7 p.m. The public is invited to the reception. The gallery will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Saturday throughout the run of the show, which closes Nov. 16.
