Vivian Weltin, 92, recently of Olivia, Minn., and formerly of Ohio, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at her son's home in Olivia.
Vivian Josephine Weltin was born July 1, 1920, in Clinton Township, Seneca County, to Joseph and Cecelia (Lutz) Kauffman. She was the youngest of seven children, grew up in Tiffin, and graduated in 1938 from Eden Township High School, Melmore. Vivian married Cornell J. Weltin Sr. Sept. 1, 1941, in Tiffin, and they were the parents of two sons.
Vivian and Cornell Sr. lived and farmed the same farm site for 63 years until his death in November of 2004. Vivian's love of travel took her and Cornell all over the world. She was also a crafter, bowler and a member of the Grange Dart League. Being an avid Buckeye fan, Vivian loved to attend Ohio State football games.
Vivian is survived by two sons, Cornell "Smokey" (Pat) Weltin of Olivia, Minn., and William (Melissa) Weltin of Gallion, Ala.; three grandchildren, Paul (Amy) Weltin of Alexandria, Minn., Christen (Greg) Miller of Minneapolis, Minn., and Elizabeth Weltin of Gallion, Ala.; and five great-grandchildren, Brynn Weltin, Ian Weltin, Gavin Weltin, Henry Miller and Eleanor Miller.
Vivian also was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and one brother.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at St. Joseph Cemetery with Fr. Kenneth Lill officiating.
