GALION - Jared Stockmaster captured third and three teammates ran in the top 10 Saturday as Seneca East upended Columbus Grove 52-67 for the Galion Festival Division III title.
Stockmaster crossed the line in 16:20.6, Carson Pipher (16:25.4) and Wes Pipher (16:29.5) ended sixth and seventh and Karl Burgderfer claimed 10th (16:43.8).
Michael Szabo added a 27th (17:15.2) for the Tigers, and Bryce Watson (32nd, 17:22.1) and Robby Schaffer (48th, 18:01.2) also ran.
Mohawk finished 15th (413) and Buckeye Central came in 21st (596).
Alex Hoerig's 49th (18:01.9) led Mohawk, and Sam Robertson took 104th (19:52) for Buckeye Central.
Upper Sandusky ended 25th in the Division II race with 602 points. Granville beat Bay 100-138 for the championship.
Garrett Miller's 36th (17:03) paced Upper Sandusky.
Columbian came in 18th in the Division I race with 467 points, led by Brandon Gibson's 19th (16:25.1). New Albany held off Walsh Jesuit 107-112 for the title.
Seneca East also had a team wind up 13th in the open race with 357 points. Bay downed Rocky River 70-93 for the crown.
Brady McWilliams clocked in ninth (18:02.5) for Seneca East.
St. Wendelin's Jorden Nye captured second (17:38.4), and Buckeye Central's Stoney Wurm came in 150th (20:36.1).
Top-10 trio fuels Chieftains
BETTSVILLE - Three Hopewell-Loudon runners finished in the top 10 Saturday to propel the Chieftains to the Rachel Munoz title at the Lakota Myron Cline Invitational at H.P. Eells Park.
Shelby Raudebaugh (20:58.15) and Erin Reinhart-Anez (21:04.35) finished sixth and seventh and Kailey Coleman came in 10th (21:12.84) as the Chieftains beat Toledo Christian 65-79 for the crown.
Leah Reinhart backed them with a 17th (21:26.45) and Morgan Brant finished 31st (22:26.42). Haley Schreiner (46th, 23:27.25) and Katelyn Brickner (53rd, 24:07.1) also ran for H-L.
Carey clipped Calvert 105-107 for third, Old Fort came in sixth (177) and Lakota took seventh (225).
Sarah Walter's 12th (21:18.64) topped Carey, Calvert got a fifth from Morgan Smith (20:54.76), Old Fort's Jackie Becker finished 14th (21:20.05) and Lakota's Cariss Reese captured third (20:06.67).
Swartzmiller's third guides H-L to second
BETTSVILLE - Old Fort had the two best individuals, but Hopewell-Loudon fared the best as a team Saturday at the Lakota Myron Cline Invitational at H.P. Eells Park.
Chet Swartzmiller crossed the line third in 17:05.25 to help H-L capture second by a 77-92 margin over Carey. Sandusky St. Mary took the title with 64 points.
Robert Kniss added an eighth (17:18.72) for the runner-up Chieftains and Marcus Ardner claimed 17th (17:37.53).
Carey got a ninth from Ben Kromer (17:23.01).
Marcus Meyers won the race in 16:49.79 and Brad Bannister finished in 17:04.09 to five Old Fort a 1-2 finish and help the Stockaders end fourth (100).
Calvert finished fifth (157) on the strength of Austin Schultz's fifth (17:07.61).
Reinhart second, SW fourth at Galion
GALION - Jocelyn Reinhart ran second to guide St. Wendelin to fourth Saturday in the Division II/III open race at the Galion Festival.
Reinhart finished in 20:46.4 and teammate Karin Goddard took 10th (21:25.5) to help the Mohawks score 107 points. Granville nipped Pleasant 50-55 for the title, with Lexington finishing fourth (85).
Columbian came in 13th (388), led by Lydia Vallery's 57th (23:45.3).
Buckeye Central's Lizabeth Figueroa finished 58th (23:34.7).
Columbian also wound up ninth in the Division II race with 267 points, and Upper Sandusky came in 24th (622). Lexington downed Dover 45-68 for the title.
Hanna Musil's 37th (21:08.4) led Columbian. Zoe Garber ended 102nd (23:11.1) for Upper Sandusky.
Mohawk upended Seneca East 310-380 for 13th in the Division III race.
Liberty Center defeated Mount Gilead 32-67 for the title.
Julia Daniels' 16th (20:45) sparked Mohawk, while Seneca East got a 40th from Alyssa England (22:22.6).
