Tiffin University has elected Reginald Wilkinson to its board of trustees, according to board chairman Gary Heminger.
Wilkinson is president and CEO of Ohio College Access Network. Previously, he was executive director of Ohio Business Alliance for Higher Education and the Economy.
"Dr. Wilkinson's experience in his current role as president and CEO of the Ohio College Access Network and his many years in senior management roles in the field of criminal justice will be especially helpful for Tiffin University and our board of trustees," TU President Paul Marion stated in a release.
Wilkinson retired in April 2006 after 33 years with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, serving as the agency's director since 1991. At the time of his retirement, he was the longest-serving director of a state corrections agency in the nation.
He is former chairman and a current member of the National Institute of Corrections Advisory Board, as well as chairman of the national Prison Rape Review Panel. He is a past president of the American Correctional Association, Association of State Correctional Administrators and International Association of Reentry.
Wilkinson's academic background includes bachelor's and master's degrees from The Ohio State University. He also was awarded a doctor of education degree from the University of Cincinnati.
He has received numerous awards and honors and has had published dozens of journal articles, book chapters and newspaper editorials. Also, he is a member of many civic and professional organizations. He serves as a member of the Dean's Advisory Committee for the College of Education, Criminal Justice & Human Services at the University of Cincinnati, as well as a member of the Voinovich School Strategic Partnership Alliance at Ohio University.
