WILLARD - Columbian claimed three tennis championships Saturday at the Northern Ohio League Tournament.
Alex Kramer beat Bellevue's Carly Santoro, 6-0, 6-2 for the No. 1 singles title, Kelly Bishop defeated Norwalk's Sara Stoll 6-3, 6-1 for the No. 2 singles crown, and Allie Elchert and Audrey Vrancken held off Norwalk's Kayla Pelham and Hannah Herner, 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2.
Kramer reached her finals with a first-round bye and a 6-0, 6-0 shutout over Shelby's Ashley Stahl.
Bishop advanced by beating Sandusky's Melanie Murray 6-1, 6-2 and Willard's Tristan Lake 6-2, 6-3.
Columbian's doubles champions reached their finals match with a bye and a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Shelby's Sam Wiggins and Natasha Grilley.
The Tornadoes took second in the other two contests.
Sarah Guzowski fell 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles to Willard's Allie Worcester.
Norwalk's Kelsey Talkington and Lauren Ott defeated TC's Kelsey Drown and Ashley Niedermier 6-3, 6-2 for the No. 2 doubles title.
Doubles team takes second for Rams
BUCYRUS - Upper Sandusky's Megan Pasco and Nadia English finished second Saturday at No. 2 doubles in the North Central Conference Meet.
The pair of Rams fell 6-1, 6-2 to a Galion duo in the finals. They advanced by doubling up an Ontario team 6-3, 6-3.
Three other Upper Sandusky entries gained honorable mention status.
Kilee Saylor beat Crestline's Patience Martin, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Jenny Ohler downed Ontario's Emily Kinney 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3 singles, and Logan Pierson and Taylor Dilley turned back a Crestline duo 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.
Taylor Clark lost both of her matches at No. 1 singles.
Calvert has runner-up doubles team
FOSTORIA - Cassie Recker and Nicole Fretz captured second Saturday at No. 3 doubles to lead Calvert's efforts at the Fostoria Tournament.
Recker and Fretz opened with a bye and then beat Rossford's Hanna Marcinek and Erika Peters, 6-1, 6-3 before falling 6-4, 6-0 to Oregon Clay's Lilly Nominee and Taylor Daniel.
Mikayla Dariano and Lindsay Horn added a fourth at No. 2 doubles, falling 8-0 in their final match to Ottawa-Glandorf's Haley Inninger and Nicole Siefker.
Madison Daniel beat Clay's Jennifer Bellcofer 8-4 for fifth for the Senecas,.
Regina Hoepf and Samantha Gase wound up sixth at No. 1 doubles. They lost 8-5 to Fostoria's Cori Garrett and Kendall McCoy in their last match of the day.
