Heritage Festival balances change, tradition

September 14, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

There are some new members, and new leadership, guiding the Tiffin Seneca County Heritage Festival; there are some longtime members, as well.

There are some new events and activities planned as part of the latest edition of the Heritage Fest, which is to begin this afternoon; there are some traditional favorites, as well.

We are grateful for the work and care invested in the festival, and appreciate the efforts to improve the event by pursuing change through addition. That is a concept we - as a community fixture with a history extending deep into this county's past - well understand as we adapt to life in this digital age.

This isn't a task that should be underestimated. nurturing a longstanding community event is a big responsibility, made especially challenging when that event is focused on a community's history.

But the Heritage Festival committee and volunteers have responded to that challenge. We encourage our readers to take the time this weekend to take in that legacy.
