Prep Volleyball Roundup: Warriors roll over H-L

BASCOM - Sarah Parker turned in a double-double and Ashley Parker nearly did the same Thursday in Mohawk's 25-8, 25-16, 25-6 Midland Athletic League over Hopewell-Loudon.

Sarah Parker registered 17 digs, 12 kills, three aces and two blocks for the Warriors (6-1, 3-0 MAL), and Ashley Parker had 32 assists, nine digs, two kills and two aces.

Kasey Adelsperger backed them with 10 kills and three blocks, Lynsey Trusty came up with 18 digs, Julie Adelsperger chipped in six kills, six digs and three aces, Taylor McClain had five digs, Clara Adelsperger (2 assists, 2 blocks) tallied seven digs and four kills and Aubrie Flood lined three kills.

Shelbi Sauber's 11 digs paced the Chieftains (1-9, 1-2), while Racquel Hossler, Logan Frank and Kassie Shaver each had 10.

Hossler added five assists and two kills, Frank belted six kills, Shaver lined three kills and Courtney Burns had five digs, five assists and three kills.

Blue Devils KO Raiders

CAREY - Hannah Tong hammered 15 kills and Shelby Seifert smacked 10 Thursday as Carey dropped Lakota 25-10, 25-12, 25-10 in Midland Athletic League play.

Tong also drilled five blocks for the Blue Devils (5-3, 2-1 MAL) and Seifert had seven digs and two aces.

Sidney Wentling backed them with 25 assists, seven digs and seven aces, and Taylor Fletcher had 16 digs and three aces.

Blue Jackets move to 9-0

FOSTORIA - New Riegel stayed perfect with a 25-13, 25-15, 25-15 win Thursday over Midland Athletic League foe St. Wendelin.

Kara Scherger's 21 kills and 13 digs paced the attack, while Taylor Arbogast had 10 kills and 10 digs for the Blue Jackets (9-0, 3-0 MAL).

Cassandra Acree handed out 36 assists, Lauren Ladd thumped 10 kills, Brittany Gillig had 11 digs and Alexis Kieffer lined three kills.

Catrina Lang lined seven kills for the Mohawks (2-5, 0-3), Colleen Fondessy smacked six kills and Allie Rutter had eight assists, nine blocks and six digs.

Becca Starn added 13 blocks, Taylor Lucius turned in 13 digs, Georgia Kitchen had 12 digs and Adrienne Emerine chipped in eight digs.

SE turns away Stockaders

ATTICA - Seneca East held off Old Fort 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 Thursday in Midland Athletic League play.

Kristin Bender's 15 kills, 10 digs and three aces sparked the Stockaders in the loss, while Krista Ward followed with 15 assists, 11 digs, three aces and three kills.

Sara Bell had 10 assists and four digs, Sammy Miller came up with nine digs, Morgan Kemenah had seven kills and four digs and Sam Hartsel ended with six kills and two blocks.

L-B drops Tornadoes

FINDLAY - Liberty-Benton turned back Columbian 25-19, 25-16, 25-16 Thursday, dropping the Tornadoes to 2-4.

Haley Sendelbach drilled five kills and three blocks for the Tornadoes and Megan Murphy lined four kills and two blocks.

Balance leads Calvert attack

Amber Perry, Haley Felter and Meredith Lucius each smacked eight kills Thursday and Jordan Gase slammed seven in Calvert's 25-14, 25-15, 25-6 Midland Athletic League win over North Baltimore.

Kaleigh Hendrix tossed up 30 assists for the Senecas (5-2, 3-0 MAL).

"It's hard to single anyone out, it was a team effort," Calvert coach Greg Hendrix said.

"Who I want to single out is the student body. It's been a long time since the Calvert gym has rocked like it did tonight, thanks to what seemed like the entire football team firing the team up," he said.
