The Ritz Theatre hosted a volunteer appreciation party Tuesday at Somerset Reception Center. Following dinner, Ritz Executive Director Michael Strong introduced Ritz staff, thanked those in attendance and shared statistics.
Bingo volunteers gave 1,576 hours of their time over the past year. Ushers logged 1,599 hours and box office volunteers contributed 1,706 hours, he said.
Strong handed out "milestone pins" to those who had accumulated 100 volunteer hours or more.
Strong announed Sally Harvan as volunteer of the year.
For more than 15 years, she has volunteered as an usher, worked concessions and been a telephone solicitor. Strong said she has put in more than 1,800 volunteer hours and is the oldest of The Ritz volunteers.
Nancy Betz, finance director at The Ritz, escorted Harvan to accept her award.
After the presentations, The Ritz staff passed out bingo sheets for the voluneers. Strong called the numbers for six regular games and handed out tickets for Ritz events as prizes. He also awarded several door prizes.
Milestones
Volunteer pins went to the following people:
Diane Puesey, 1,000 hours; Wendy Baker and Sandy Kimmel, 750 hours; John Aiello, Vickie Bauer, Barb Kuhn, Chris Weller and Margaret Werling, 500 hours.
Racking up 250 hours were: Carol Coffman, Lori Foster, Steve Genet, Nancy Huth, Brenda Kohlenberg, Ray Perkins, LaRae Seay, Cathy Tiell, Jean Wilson and Mandy Wolber.
Fourteen people logged 100 volunteer hours: Dinah Adams, Cindy Ardner, Marlyn Findley, Juanette Huffman, Deborah Johnson, Charlotte Lowery, Gabrielle Mitchell, Linda Phares, Carol Reinhart, Brad Rowe, Christina Riedel, Amy Watson, Tom Weber and Rose Mary Widman.
