GOLF: The team of Bob Haefling and Dick Hiser defeated Dick Rochester and Steve Schafer to win the Amvets League at the Seneca Hills.
n The team of Ray Nutter, Vincent Fowler, Tom Miller and Frank Perna shot four under par to win the Senior League at Clinton Heights. Norm Murray (long putt on No. 2), Howard Hohman (closest to pin in one on No. 5), John Armstrong (closest to pin in two on No. 7) and Bill Powell (closest to pin in three on No. 9) were all prize hole winners.
HS GIRLS GOLF: Mohawk girls defeated Elmwood, 222-232 Monday. Katelynn Kinley was medalist for The Warriors with a 47, while Chelsea Clinger (51), Brooke Weininger (60), Michaela Cook (64) and Heaven Immele (70) rounded out the top five. This improves the Warriors to (7-0).
FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL: New Riegel prevailed against Rossford, 20-25, 19-25, 27-25 and North Baltimore, 16-25, 25-23, 25-20. Bailey Reinhart had 10 aces while Elizabeth Zoeller had 12 digs.
VOLLEYBALL: The Tiffin Community YMCA will accept registration Saturday and Sunday for fourth through sixth grade volleyball. Volleyball skills will be taught on Mondays from 7-8 p.m. at the YMCA for seven weeks by former Columbian coach Becky Rohrbach.
