Raymond E. Smith, 70, of Attica, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 25, 1941, in Fremont to the late Raymond H. Smith. He married Kay (Nuhfer) in Woodville, on Oct. 23, 1965, and she survives.
Other survivors include his four daughters, Dawn "Sleep" (Ray) Freeze of Green Springs, Melissa "Babe" (Dave) Gurney of Attica, Tricia "Elsworth" (Bryan) Miller of Bellevue, Jessica "Jim" Smith of Sandusky; seven grandchildren, Tim, Jake, Grumpy, Herc, Squirtsy, Ike and Mike; and a great-granddaughter, Happy.
Mr. Smith was a self-employed truck driver for more than 40 years. He was a 1959 graduate of the Republic High School and a United States Army veteran. He was a member of Republic American Legion Post 404, a 4-H advisor and a former member of American Jersey Cattle Club, Ohio Jersey Breeders and Seneca County Jersey Breeders.
His memorial service is 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Republic United Church of Christ with the Rev. Darla Metz officiating.
Visitation for family and friends is 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the church. There will be no burial held at this time.
The Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.
