JV FOOTBALL: Columbian defeated Bellevue, 18-16. Jake Adams had two rushing touchdowns, while Spencer Franklin also ran in a score. TC's Tyler Gillig and Josh Briggs each had interceptions

JV VOLLEYBALL: Seneca East fell to Colonel Crawford, 25-22, 25-19. Caitlin Sowers and Paige Reichert had three kills each for the Tigers.

* New Riegel topped Willard 25-18, 14-25, 25-16, then beat Marion Pleasant, 25-23, 25-23. New Riegel's Natalie Reinhart had six kills, five aces and 17 digs, while MacKenzie Reinhart had eight kills and Mikayla Thes had eight assists and 14 kills.

* Megan Casale had 16 digs, 12 assists and 12 aces, leading Calvert to a 25-21, 18-25, 25-7 win over Monroeville. Mallory Paul served four aces, and added three digs and three kills. Taylor Ritzler had eight digs and four kills.

* Mohawk won all three matches it played at Newark Catholic's JV VolleyPalooza to win the tournament. Sheyanne Wilhelm lined 16 kills while adding six aces. Mya Morris and Aubrey Ward added 14 and 12 kills respectively. Ali Konkle served up 16 aces on the day. Charlotte Moes dished out 33 assists while McKensie Sowers had 33 digs.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL: Mohawk defeated North Baltimore, 25-16, 25-14, then knocked off Ada, 25-12, 25-14. Ally Weinandy led the Warriors with six kills, while Hannah Keiffer had five kills, seven assists, five aces. Katie Pinkston served five aces while collecting four kills and six digs, and Allison Osborn finished with five aces, four kills.

GOLF: The Dick Edmond ADA Open, sponsored by Carmies Grill & Bar, occurs Sept. 22 at Seneca Hills Golf Club. Cost is $200 per four-person team. BASKETBALL: Heidelberg University and the YMCA are accepting registration for a 3-on-3 Heritage Parade tournament on Sept. 15 at noon. There will be a middle school (6-8th grade), high school (9-12th grade) and adult (19-over) division. Cost is $10 per team. Teams must pre-register by Thursday at the YMCA. VOLLEYBALL: The Tiffin Community YMCA will accept registration Saturday and Sunday for fourth through sixth grade volleyball. Volleyball skills will be taught on Mondays from 7-8 p.m. at the YMCA for seven weeks by former Columbian coach Becky Rohrbach.
