Business owners invest in our area
Hats off to business owners and managers willing to take a risk. Companies large and small are occupying storefronts, building stores, renovating abandoned buildings and expanding factories in Seneca County.
Rich Focht, president and CEO of Seneca Industrial and Economic Development Corp., noted this week several manufacturers - such as Toledo Molding & Die, Taiho Corp. of America and Arnold Machine - are adding to their businesses and hope to bring more than 100 new jobs to the area.
Thursday, Laminate Technologies hosted an open house to showcase a 28,000-square-foot expansion. The growth should mean the addition of at least 20 jobs.
Rural King opened a location in last month, putting a former Walmart store into productive use again. Advance Auto Parts built a store in Tiffin this summer.
Small business owners are adding vibrancy to downtown, too. G&H Trading Co. opened last summer, joining a growing number of busy storefronts on South Washington?Street.
While these entrepreneurs take a chance on Seneca County, they also are giving residents a chance. May the trend continue.
