"Inside Out" is the theme for the 2012 Old Fort Church's women's conference. This year's event is slated for a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 22 in the Great Hall at Heidelberg University. Registration and a light breakfast begin at 8:30 a.m. Music and worship are to open the conference at 9 a.m. Conference team member Nola Murray is to give an overview of Morrison House, the agency that is to receive proceeds from the conference.
The keynote speaker is Erin Alice, wife of Pastor John Alice, and mother of five children. She is to expand on the conference theme, which is based on Psalm 139: "Oh Lord, you have searched me and you know me." Testimony by a church member is to follow her talk.
Marcia Leaser of Fremont is to perform a short original drama, "A Mother's Point of View," in which she portrays Mary, mother of Jesus. Leaser is a published author of children's books and Christian poetry. After the sketch is to be more music by guest vocalist Kelly Spallinger of Lima and the church band, Hoopty-Hoo and the Such.
At 11:30 a.m., a representative from Morrison House is to address the conference. Lunch is to begin at 11:45. A book table is to be open during the lunch hour (11:45 a.m.-1 p.m.), and chances on a gift basket are to be sold. Erin Alice and her friend Gail Christenson are to share the afternoon segment of the program. Music is to conclude the conference.
Registration can be done online at www.generationsministry.com. The cost is $25 per person. Checks should be made payable to Generations Ministry and dropped off at the church, 1070 E.
