The deadline is approaching quickly for Ohioians to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election.
Janet Leahy, director of the Seneca County Board of Elections, said voters need to be registered to vote by Oct. 9 to participate in the election. Residents can register at the board of elections and registration forms also are available at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, along with voter access guides for people with disabilities, and at the Ohio Secretary of State's website, www.sos.state.oh.us.
Applications to vote by absentee ballot are being mailed to residents from the secretary of state office, and residents also can apply at the board of elections. Absentee voting begins Oct. 2, and can be done through the mail or at the board of elections office.
In addition, Leahy said while most positions for poll workers have been filled, the office always is looking for reserve workers in case of an emergency on Election Day.
