REPUBLIC - In memory of David Robison, a pancake and sausage breakfast is to be served 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday in Republic Town Hall, 213 Washington St., Republic.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. Also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, ALS affects about five of every 100,000 people worldwide. There is no known cure.
The Power of 12 team from Republic is inviting the public to help them "flip for a cure" by supporting the cause in Robison's memory. Checks can be made out to "ALS Association" with "Power of 12" on the memo line. Donations also can be made online.
