Calvert tennis falls in third round atMansfield

MANSFIELD - Calvert suffered losses in the third round of each singles match Saturday at the Northwest Ohio Catholic Schools Association Invitational.

Margret Bowers came the closest to winning in the third round for the Senecas, falling 8-6 to a Mansfield St. Peter's foe at No. 3 singles.

She opened with an 8-0 win over a Sandusky St. Mary opponent and led Kendra Molyet of Fremont Joe 5-4 before Molyet withdrew with an injury.

Madison Daniel fell 8-6 in the first round at No. 1 singles to St. Sandusky St. Mary's Noelle DeRibo, then beat Fremont St. Joe's Katie Blohm 8-3. Daniel then lost 8-3 to Ann Charrachan of St. Peter's.

CeCi Burtis lost all three of her No. 2 singles matches, falling 8-2 to Sandusky St. Mary's Alexis McCabe, 8-5 to Fremont St. Joseph's Tricia Reinhart and 8-3 to Janay Saunders of St. Peter's.

TC trio comes in under 90

BELLEVUE - Three Columbian golfers broke 90 Saturday at the Bellevue Invitational at Sleepy Hollow.

Jack Burkes led the Tornadoes with an 87, Bryce Creamer shot an 88 and T.J. Wickham added an 89. Clayton Neal shot a 102 and Mason McCool (104) also played.

Complete results were not provided.

Eagles KO Rams with 1-2 punch

UPPER SANDUSKY - Zach Garver and Peyton Schroeder handled the offense Saturday as Liberty-Benton blanked Upper Sandusky 5-0.

Garver scored three goals and Schroeder added two goals and two assists for the Eagles (5-0), who out-shot Upper Sandusky 17-9.

Dillon Burkett had four saves for L-B, and William Amert tallied eight for the Rams (4-2).
