Columbian, unbeaten in NOL play, improves to 8-1 overall

Willard took a back-and-forth No. 1 doubles match, but Columbian held on for a 3-2 Northern Ohio League win Thursday.

Lynsie Allen and Allie Worcester upended TC's Allie Elchert and Audrey Vrancken 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.

The Crimson Flashes' other win came at No. 2 singles, where Tristan Lake beat Kelly Bishop 6-1, 6-4.

The Tornadoes (3-0 NOL) got a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles from Alex Kramer over Alivia Parrott, while Sarah Guzowski thumped Claire Wiers 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.

Kelsey Drown and Ashley Niedermier also beat Karman McKelvey and Hannah Belmores 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles for TC.

Thunderbirds swoop up Calvert

FINDLAY - Calvert claimed one win Thursday in a 4-1 loss to Lima Central Catholic.

Senecas Regina Hoepf and Samantha Gase dropped Meredith Bruno and Olivia Stanley 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

Thunderbirds Jennifer Huffman and Emily Janowski rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles against Anika Maiberger and Stasia Huth-Fretz.

Lima Central Catholic's Paige Collins turned back Madison Daniel 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Kacey Bradshaw beat CeCi Burtis 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 and Liz Kidd defeated Margret Bowers 6-2, 7-6 at No. 3.
