Eldon B. "Buck" Risner, 64, of Carey, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 2, 1947, in Findlay, to Wiley and Bridia (Salyer) Risner. He married Rebecca S. Hickle Shark Sept. 14, 1991, in Findlay, and she survives in Carey.
Two children from a previous marriage survive, Jeff (Starla) Risner of Van Buren and Mindy Risner of New Riegel; two stepdaughters, Shelly (Brian) Wallace of Carey and Sheryl (Tim) Cummings of Findlay; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Sandra Spiess of North Carolina and Andrea (John) Logsdon of Tiffin; and two brothers, Dan Risner of Dayton and Bill (Ann) Risner of Tiffin.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a stepson, Jerome Shark.
Eldon was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having served two tours. He was a member of the Carey VFW No. 3759 and the DAV. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in West Virginia. Eldon loved life and spending time with his family whenever possible.
Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. today, Aug. 31, 2012, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Chrisman officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, with military graveside rites conducted by the Carey Honor Guard.
