FOSTORIA - Peter Campbell carded a 42, good enough for medalist honors and good enough to help St. Wendelin to victory in a tri-match with Seneca East and Bettsville at Loudon Meadows.
The Mohawks tallied 176, distancing themselves from the second place Tigers with 187. Bettsville finished with 243.
Kieran Campbell backed Peter with a 44 while Dalton Murray and Joey DeHaven shot matching 45s.
For Seneca East, Nate Phillips was one shot of medalist pace posting a 43. Jack Daniel posted a 46, Bradenn Nagel shot 47 and Austin Holmer shot 52.
Bettsville was led by Ryan Hager's 52. Kyle Hager shot 60, Logan Robinson posted a 65 and Tommy Kipps shot 66.
TC tennis rolls in tourney play
Columbian hosted and beat Elida in the second round of the Ohio Tennis Coaches' Association state team tournament. The Tornadoes swept all five matches.
In singles play, Kelly Bishop beat C'Era Savage 7-5, 6-3. Kelsey Drown scored a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lauren Greenley and Sarah Guzowksi beat Elizabeth White by the same score.
In doubles play, Allie Elchert and Ashley Niedermier beat Erin Kesler and Hailey Hurst 6-1, 6-2. Audrey Vrancken and Rachel Gates teamed to beat Ashley Fay and Meredith Little 6-1, 6-1.
The Tornadoes are 7-1 on the season.
Whitmer defeats Fostoria
TOLEDO - Fostoria was swept by Whitmer 5-0. The closest match came at No. 1 singles where Patricia Stewart topped Cori Garrett 6-1, 7-5. Also, Trisha Kimmel beat Kendall McCoy 6-3, 6-1 and Chelsea Hoyt topped Alyssia Sandoval 6-0, 6-1.
Whitmer's top doubles team of Emily Meyer and Gabby Ignatowiscz beat Pernille Knudsen and Angelica Esquivel 6-0, 6-1. Erica Cochenour and Kimberly Wioland beat Autumn Affolder and Lauren Risner 6-1, 6-0.
