Carrie Fitch, 77, of Tiffin, died at 7:29 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
Carrie was born Sept. 27, 1934, in Pond Creek, Ky., to the late Orval and Ople (Hensley) Thacker. She married Birgus Fitch April 19, 1957, and he preceded her in death.
Carrie is survived by her 10 children, Carolyn (Dave) Gibson and Benny (Virginia) Fitch, both of Tiffin, Birgus Fitch of Hamler, Linda Mesnard and Madelen (Bud) Bolen, both of Tiffin, Meg (Wayne) Goble of Fostoria, Jewel (Eric) Strite of Medford, Ore., Patricia Flugga and Kathy Fitch, both of Tiffin and Edna (Dave) Dodson of North Baltimore; 26 grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Verlin Thacker of Tiffin and Clarence Thacker of Johns Creek, Ky.
Carrie worked at Autumnwood Care Center and the Daughters of America. Carrie was a member of Word Ministries.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
