Top-20 efforts give TC title

FREMONT - Abrie Smith ran 10th and four other Columbian girls ended in the top 20 Saturday as the Tornadoes captured the Division II/III Norm Bray Memorial Invitational.

Smith's 22:44.74 led the way for TC, which held off Oak Harbor 71-77.

Hanna Musil (23:09.45) and Alexis Desjardins (23:12.04) finished 12th and 13th for the Tornadoes, Chandler Carley took 17th (23:27) and Marisa Stephens ran 19th (23:42.19).

Old Fort wound up fourth (104), thanks to Kayla Garza (21:41.96) and Jackie Becker (21:50.7) taking third and fourth.

Lakota's Cariss Reese ran second in the open race in 21:35.9. Fostoria's Taylor Keeley ended up fourth (22:21.85).

FREMONT - Brad Bannister and Marcus Meyer finished fourth and sixth Saturday to key Old Fort's run to third in the Division II/III race at the Norm Bray Invitational.

Bannister crossed the line in 17:33.93 and Meyers ended in 18:26.86 for the Stockaders, who tied Lake with 86 points.

Lake was awarded second on a tiebreaker, and Oak Harbor took the team crown with 61 points. Lakota finished sixth (136) and Fostoria ended eighth (161).

Salvador Cantero's fifth (18:08.6) paced Fostoria, and Lakota got a 15th from Zac Baker (19:16.02).

Columbian ended seventh in the Division I race with 181 points, led by Brandon Gibson's eighth (17:10.83).

H-L boys hold off Carey for crown

NORTH ROBINSON - Hopewell-Loudon put all five of its scorers in the top 25 Saturday to edge out Carey 68-72 for the Colonel Crawford Invitational title.

Chet Swartzmiller ran sixth (18:12.24) for the victors, and Ryan Depinet (18:26.4) and Robert Kniss (18:27.09) took 11th and 12th.

Alex Wood backed them with a 17th (18:52) and Marcus Ardner ended 24th (19:05.59) for the Chieftains.

The runner-up Blue Devils got a seventh from Brayden Leist (18:15.37) and ninth from Ben Kromer (18:20.28). Zach Logsdon (18:38.83) and Michael Patton (18:39.4) ran 15th and 16th, and Oscar O'Flaherty came in 27th (19:13.51).

Upper Sandusky took fifth (149) on the strength of Garrett Miller's second (17:27.29) and Dominic Solis' fourth (17:46.97).

Buckeye Central came in 11th (285). Anthony Snyder ended 65th (21:27.32) for the Bucks.

Reinhart, Chieftains run second

NORTH ROBINSON - Leah Reinhart claimed second as an individual and led Hopewell-Loudon to second as a team Saturday at the Colonel Crawford Invitational.

Northmor turned back H-L 35-39 for the championship, with Reinhart crossing the line in 21:40.68 for the Chieftains.

Erin Reinhart-Anez (22:20.8), Shelby Raudebaugh (22:26.58) and Kailey Coleman (22:29.89) captured sixth through eighth for H-L, and Morgan Brant finished 17th (23:38.67).

Carey finished third (51), Upper Sandusky took sixth (160) and Buckeye Central came in seventh (182).

Jaclyn Troiano (22:11.82) and Sarah Walter (22:13.12) clocked in fourth and fifth for Carey.

Zoe Garber's 35th (24:48.42) led Upper Sandusky, and Lizabeth Figueroa took 34th (24:43.65) for Buckeye Central.

Tigers bunch it up for title

NEW LONDON - All five Seneca East runners broke 18 minutes, with the top four ending in the top 20 Saturday en route to winning the New London Dan Olien Invitational.

Wes Pipher (17:01.59), Carson Pipher (17:09.44) and Jared Stockmaster (17:10.84) crossed the line seventh through ninth to key the 58-106 championship over runner-up West Holmes.

Karl Burgderfer added a 13th (17:19.93) for the Tigers, and Michael Szabo took 21st (17:54.02).

Mohawk wound up 11th (318) in the 22-team field. Alex Hoerig took 31st (18:14.93) for the Warriors.

Mohawk's girls ended ninth (253) in their race, with Julia Daniel capturing seventh (21:03.2).

Seneca East did not compete as a team. Anna Willman took 19th (22:35.34).

Schultz, Smith lead Calvert charge

SANDUSKY - Austin Schultz took sixth in the boys race and Morgan Smith ended ninth in the girls contest to top Calvert's efforts at the 3,200-meter Sandusky St. Mary Run to Fun meet at Mills Creek Golf Course.

Schultz's finish (11:02.62) led the Senecas to fourth among boys teams, with 116 points. Ren Boehler added a 24th (12:01).

St. Wendelin came in 10th (268). Jorden Nye finished 13th (11:36).

Calvert's girls finished second as a team with 92 points on the strength of Smith crossing the line in 13:34.93. Sydney Berlekamp added a 12th (14:00.3).

St. Wendelin came in sixth (148), with Jocelyn Reinhart running 11th (13:48.25) and Sara Goddard finishing 13th (14:01.69).
