Perkins gets around Columbian

Sandusky Perkins clipped Columbian 2-1 in soccer Saturday.

The host Tornadoes struck first on a Nathaniel Gilmer penalty kick in the 13th minute.

Perkins countered with goals by Max Funk in the 20th minute and Vincent Scavio in the 36th minute.

Zach Grealy stopped eight of TC's nine shots. The Pirates (2-0) took 22 shots.

Josh Gibson tallies 20 saves for the Tornadoes (1-2).

Rams take a tumble

UPPER SANDUSKY - Kenton overpowered Upper Sandusky 5-3 Saturday in girls soccer.

Brigitte Snow scored twice for the Rams in the loss, getting one in each half. Jamie Calvin had the assist in the first half off a corner kick, and Snow turned a deflection into a score in the second half.

Sarah Rall scored the first goal for Upper Sandusky (2-1-0) in the first half.

Keely Stover had eight saves for the Rams, who out-shot the Wildcats (3-1-0) by a 29-16 margin.
