Mercer-Scherley

Rachel Mercer and Tony Scherley were united in marriage at 1:30 p.m. June 2, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, Perryburg. The Rev. Gary Rode was officiant during the double-ring ceremony. A reception followed at Electrical Industry Banquet Hall, Rossford.

Rachel is the daughter of Douglas Mercer of Perrysburg, Cathy Weaver of Flint, Mich., and David Weaver of Perrysburg.

Tony is the son of Urban Jr. and Pat Scherley of Bellevue.

The bride, given in marriage by her father and stepfather, wore an ivory, strapless tulle ballgown with lace and beaded appliques, a satin waistband and a chapel-length train. She wore a rhinestone tiara and a single-tier viel. She carried a bouquet of hot pink and orange gerbera daisies, orange and pink roses and mango calla lilies.

Sarah Pulschen of Perrysburg was her friend's matron of honor. Caitlin Mercer of Rossford was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Anna Mercer of Perrysburg, sister of the bride; Jill Holland of Wayne and Alexis Gillett of Fostoria, friends of the couple; and Krista Sturdevant of Haskins, sister of the groom. They wore black crinkle chiffon and charmeuse, strapless dresses featuring a subtle side ruching and a cascading front ruffle. They carried bouquets of hot pink and orange gerbera daisies and hot pink and orange roses.

Kevin Scherley of Bellevue was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were John Scherley of Bellevue, brother of the groom; Randy Phillips of Columbus, Justin Caldwell of Centerville and Chip Pulschen of Perrysburg, friends of the couple; and Andrew Weaver of Perrysburg, brother of the groom.

Easton Scherley, son of the couple, was a mini-groomsman.

Rachel is a 1998 graduate of Bowling Green High School and is a dispatcher for the Wood County Sheriff's Office.

Tony is is a trooper for the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He is a 2003 graduate of Seneca East High School and a 2006 graduate of Tiffin University and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy.

The newlyweds reside in Wayne.
