Clyde's Maria Gerber held off Kelly Bishop, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, while the Fliers' Kristina Reimer upended Sarah Guzowski, 6-3, 6-2.

Clyde's team of Amanda Cahill and Lexi Weber knocked off TC's Allie Elchert and Audrey Vrancken, 6-2, 6-3.

"This was a very well-played match between two high-quality teams," said TC coach Chip Weingart.

It was TC's first loss of the season. It stands at 4-1.

Gorrell paces H-L win

FOSTORIA - Bryce Gorrell shot a 38, tying him for medalist with Calvert's Johnny Hays. But Gorrell's teammates put up a few excellent scores, and the Chieftains outdistanced the Senecas and St. Wendelin by a comfortable margin.

The Chieftains got a 41 from Aric Creeger and a 43 from Christian Madsen and finished with a 169. That was eight strokes better than Calvert, who got a 42 from Jeremy Hanna.

St. Wendelin's Gabe Walters and Peter Campbell each shot a 44.

Whippets topple TC

SHELBY - Sam Boyce shot a 40, and Alex Kreinbrink shot a 41 as Shelby toppled Columbian, 177-189 at Shelby Country Club.

Bryce Creamer led the Tornadoes with a 42, while Jack Burkes put up a 48.

Shelby improved to 2-0, while Columbian fell to 0-2.

UPPER SANDUSKY - Mohawk hosted Old Fort, but only had three players, which gave the Stockaders the win without even taking a shot.

Old Fort, behind Brad Heilman's 48, shot a 196. Mohawk's three players combined for a 150, with J. W. Riedel shooting a match-best 47.
