Ashland swept Calvert in a match at Heidelberg Courts Tuesday, 5-0.
In singles play, the Arrows' Maggie McGinty topped Calvert's Madison Daniel, 6-3, 2-6, 6-0, while Ashland's Ellery Gerwig knocked off Margret Bowers, 6-2, 6-0. Maddie Thomas closed out the singles matches by beating CeCi Burtis, 6-3, 7-5.
In doubles play, Miranda Peat and Cassidy Yetzer topped Calvert's Regina Hoepf and Stasia Huth-Fretz, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Ashland's Brooke Sharp and Elizabeth Slabagh knocked off Calvert's Mikayla Doriano and Nicole Fretz, 6-0, 6-1.
USHS takes top 2 singles in win
UPPER SANDUSKY - Upper Sandusky picked up wins at the Nos. 1 and 2 singles from Taylor Clark and Kilee Saylor to help power a 4-1 win over Crestline. Clark topped Xena Humphrey, 6-1, 6-1 while Sailor prevailed over Amber Schreck 6-2, 6-0.
The Rams (2-3) also picked up a doubles win from Taylor Dilley and Logan Pierson over Brea Quail and Hope Martin, 6-1, 6-0. The other Rams' doubles team of Alesha Franz and Nadia English won by forfeit.
Crestline's only win came in singles play as Patience Martin beat Jenny Ohler 6-7, 6-2, 6-2.
Bluffton edges out FHS
FOSTORIA - Fostoria won both doubles matches, but Bluffton swept singles competition for a 3-2 victory over the Redmen.
Fostoria's top team of Pernille Knudsen and Angelica Esquivel beat Morgan Pugsley and Kayla Edington 6-3, 6-3. The Redmen's Autumn Affolder and Lauren Risner beat Gaby Sneary and Justine Mitchell 6-0, 6-3.
In singles, Bluffton got wins from Emily Sprague over Cori Garrett, 6-2, 6-1; Maggie Fett over Kendall McCoy 6-1, 6-4, and Rachel Sehlhorst over Alyssia Sandoval, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0.
The Redmen drop to 0-4 on the season.
