Allen J. St. Clair Sr., 64, of Wharton, died at 4 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, in the emergency room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.
He was born Nov. 23, 1947, in Tiffin to Edward J. "Bud" and Geraldean (Berkheimer) St. Clair. His mother and stepfather, Edward Vincent, survive in Upper Sandusky. He married Betty A. Gibson on Feb. 14, 1967, and she survives in Wharton.
Surviving are his six children, Sheri A. (Bill Adkins) St. Clair of Carey, Allen J. St. Clair Jr. of Nevada, Michael S. St. Clair of Forest, Edward J. (Terri) St. Clair of Bucyrus, Allen D. "Bog" St. Clair of Upper Sandusky and Jason L. (Abbe) St. Clair of Carey; 12 grandchildren, Anna, Billy, Dusty, Zachary, Bryce, Hailey, Ryan, Kayla, Kory, Laney, Mylee and Gracyn St. Clair; five great-grandchildren, Landon, Addyson, Arianna, Gavin and Sullivan; three sisters, Linda M. Powers of Carey, Debbie (Tony) Distel and Carol (Terry) Risner, both of Tiffin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his beloved pets.
His father preceded him in death.
A third generation auto mechanic and body man, he owned and operated the former Al's Body Shop in Upper Sandusky for many years.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin, with Pastor Bob Turner officiating.
