NORTH BALTIMORE - Elmwood's No. 4 played like a No. 1 Monday, firing a team-best 76 to guide the Royals to a 339-343 win over St. Wendelin at the Royal Invitational at Birch Run.
The runner-up Mohawks got a 79 from Kieran Campbell.
Hopewell-Loudon took third with a 350 behind Bryce Gorrell's 75. Lakota's 374 put the Raiders fourth, with Makayla Dull firing an 83.
Gibsonburg (386) and Northwood (442) rounded out the tournament.
Clyde takes own invite
GREEN SPRINGS - Host Clyde shot a score of 312 to win the Ralph Hohenstein Classic at Green Hills. Calvert finished ninth out of 14 schools at the event with a team score of 376. Jeremy Hanna paced the Senecas with a 76.
Also for Calvert, Johnny Hays shot a 90, Matt Huffmon carded a 104, Bryan Kennedy shot 106 and Henry Burns shot 118.
Warriors open with a sweep
HARPSTER - Katelynn Kinley fired a medalist round of 49 Monday to key Mohawk's win in a girls triangular at Hickory Grove.
Kinley and the Warriors carded a 223, besting Elmwood by seven strokes. Ridgedale took third (254).
Chelsea Clinger added a 52 for Mohawk (2-0) in the season-opener, Brooke Weininger had a 58 and Hannah Harrison shot a 64. Michaela Cook (65) and Bri Thiery (68) also played for Mohawk.
Rams third at Bucyrus
BUCYRUS - Upper Sandusky claimed third Monday to lead local teams at the Bucyrus Invitational.
Wynford edged Bellevue 341-345 for the title, with the Rams shooting a 349. Individual totals for Upper Sandusky were not provided.
Seneca East ended ninth with a 386. Nate Phillips led the Tigers with an 82.
