Beverly A. Doyon, 74, of Marietta, passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, in Marietta.
She was born May 13, 1938, in Kokomo, Ind., to Lawrence and Myrtle (Little) Riggs. She married James Doyon June 24, 1961, in Indianapolis, and they were together for 51 years.
Beverly was an avid reader, including history and true crime stories. She and Jim traveled throughout their lives, often visiting Canada, California and Florida. They also traveled to the Bahamas, England and France. Beverly loved boating, playing various card and dice games and visiting with friends.
Beverly was a bank teller for many years and worked at The Ohio State University as an administrative assistant in the College of Education. She proudly served as a member of a federal grand jury in Columbus about 10 years ago.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James; two sons, Thomas of Bellbrook and Robert of Tracy, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Susan Doyon of Bellbrook; two dearly loved granddaughters, Emily Doyon of Bellbrook and Audrey Richardson of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, James and Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family, especially her very dear friends, Bob and Lori Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Fred; a sister, Nancy; and a completely spoiled, but much loved pet, a Shar-Pei named Beijing.
The family is planning a memorial service to celebrate her life at noon Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Reno School Hall, Sandhill Road, Marietta.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those wishing to remember Beverly to consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association.
