Bees versus babies

August 10, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

The news last week contained a report about a plane departure delayed because thousands of bees were nesting under it. Because bees are on the endangered list, it is against the law to kill any of them. Therefore, beekeepers were called to safely remove them. And I do respect this regulation. However, I find it appalling that many American people and our government leaders value and protect the rights and life of a bee more than the rights and life of an unborn baby. At least a bee can possibly fly away from its attacker, but an unborn baby is totally defenseless against his or her abortion. I all fairness, how can killing a bee be illegal in this country while killing a baby is totally legal? Where are our priorities, values and common sense?
