Carolyn A. Norcross, 72, of Republic, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Ruffing Family Care Center, Bloomville.
She was born May 13, 1940, in Republic, to Howard and Irma (Miller) Powell. She married Robert M. Norcross Sept. 2, 1960, in Republic, and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Rodger (Mary) Norcross of Fredericktown and Todd Norcross of Huron; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Eldon (Kathryn) Powell of Clyde; and a sister, Helen (Alvin) Schubert of Republic.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leonard Powell and two sisters, Dorothy Beals and Jean Shambaugh.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Tiffin, and Cornelia Chapter No. 93 OES, Republic. She was a past Worthy Matron, Past Deputy Grand Matron, a former Cub Scout den mother, a member of the Y-Wives, the Red Hats, and Republic Fire and EMS. She worked at the Seneca County Probate Court office as the deputy clerk for 23 years, retiring in 2000. She also had served as the Seneca County EMS coordinator.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Republic United Church of Christ, 312 S. Madison St., Republic, with the Rev. Donna Van Trees and Pastor Darla Metz officiating. Burial will follow at Farewell Retreat Cemetery, Republic.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today, Aug. 9, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville. Cornelia Chapter No. 93 OES will conduct Eastern Star services at 7:45 p.m.
