Karen Lynette Marsh

Loving mother and cherished wife, Karen Lynette Marsh passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012.

Karen was born Nov. 24, 1958, survived by her parents, Wayne and Dolly Smith of New Riegel. She married Robert Marsh, her loving husband and best friend, Nov. 28, 1992.

Left to cherish in memory are her six children, Season Marsh of Wayne, Amanda Mizen of Hilton Head, S.C., Jacob Mizen of Findlay, Andrew Marsh of Bowling Green, Kali Mizen and Trey Marsh, both of Fostoria; and three grandchildren Jasmine, Paige and Alaina Marsh (fondly named Lu Lu) of Wayne. Also cherishing her memory is former foreign exchange student, Juliana Gongora of Bogota, Colombia. She is deeply missed by her five siblings, Michelle Smith of Rainelle, W.Va., Gary (Judy) Smith of New Riegel, Amy Johnson of Adrian, Tonya (Daniel) Reinhart of New Riegel and Shannon (Rod) Williams of Alvada; and 11 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her brother, Ricky Michael Smith and grandson, Lake Allen Marsh.

Karen and her brother, Gary Smith had carried on the family business Smith Classic Machine Inc., located in New Riegel, since 1988. She was also a successful business manager for Marsh & Sons Concrete Inc. of Bowling Green, established in 1993. Karen was a member and a PRE instructor at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and a member of Royal Moose Order, New Riegel No. 872.

Besides being the "The Best Titan" baseball mom ever, she also took care of the books for the team. Karen was an avid gardener, savvy card player, enjoyed playing volleyball, bowling with Jack, loved dancing and was a faithful NASCAR fan. Her home away from home was at the Maumee River spending time with family and friends while boating on her pontoon and listening to music. Not only was Karen a dedicated wife and mother, thoughtful daughter, beloved sister, but also a loyal and caring friend to many.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, 301 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria.

In celebration of Karen's life, her Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Immediately following, lunch will be served at a facility/place to be announced.
