BLOOMVILLE?- A car struck a home Saturday afternoon in Bloomville on North Marion Street, injuring an elderly woman.

Bloomville Police Chief Howard Minzer said the woman, whose name wasn't available, struck a residence while driving her vehicle. No damage was done to the house, he said, and the car sustained some damage.

The woman was transported to the hospital, Minzer said, and he wasn't aware if she was issued any citations. The accident occurred at approximately 3:35 p.m. Saturday.

Separately, Bloomville and Attica fire departments responded to a woods fire Saturday evening at the corner of CR 6 and TR 181.

A spokesperson with the Bloomville Fire Department said the property owner was burning brush and the fire got out of control. Approximately two acres of grass inside a wooded area were burned, he said, and the fire was under control within 15 to 20 minutes after firefighters arrived at the scene.
