Charles A. Robinette, 62, of McComb, died at 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 4, 1949, in Adrian, Mich., to Harley and Margaret (Schwab) Robinette. His mother survives in Adrian. He married Peggy Ann Snyder Nov. 18, 1974, in Carey, and she survives.
Also surviving are two children, a son, Ryan (Jamie) Robinette of McComb and a daughter, Rhonda (Gustavo) Coutinho of Findlay; four grandchildren, Melissa and Olivia Coutinho and Caleb and Katelyn Robinette; a sister, Catherine Robinette of West Harrison Township, Mich.; his mother-in-law, Jean Snyder of Carey; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Mr. Robinette was a 1968 graduate of Adrian Catholic Central High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served from 1970-76. He worked for Findlay
Industries for more than 20 years until they closed in 2008. He was a member of Benton Ridge Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
Mr. Robinette was an assistant Boy Scout Master for Troop 312, Findlay, at the time of his death and had been involved with scouting for 25 years. He was a member of the McComb American Legion Mulford-Butler Post No. 511 and also helped with 4-H. Mr. Robinette had a definite love for animals; his grandchildren called him "Paw Paw with the goats."
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at the Hartley Funeral Home, McComb.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, with visitation one hour prior, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Benton Ridge. The Rev. Richard Rakay will be officiating. Veteran's military rites will be performed by the Hancock County Veteran's Memorial Squad at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
