Schubert enters Marine officer training

Joshua A. Schubert recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. After graduation, he accepted a commission as a second lieutenant with the U.S. Marine Corps. Schubert is a 2007 graduate of Havelock High School, Havelock, N.C., and a 2009 graduate of Cape Fear Community College with an associate's degree in the arts.

While awaiting orders to The Basic School, Schubert resides in Wilmington, N.C., where he is employed as a flight line service chief with Air Wilmington FBO at Wilmington National Airport. He is a son of retired Marine Maj. Dean Schubert and Terri (Spitler) Schubert of New Bern, N.C, and a grandson of Alvin and Helen Schubert of Republic, and Verle and Helen Spitler of rural Tiffin.
